About ProvedHome

An honest, reader-supported review site for home appliances. No free samples, no paid placements, no anonymous "Editorial Team" — just researched reviews written under a real name.

Why this site exists

Most product reviews online fall into one of two categories. The first is glossy marketing copy dressed up as a review — five stars, no downsides, conveniently linked. The second is the angry one-star Amazon comment from someone whose unit arrived broken. Neither helps you actually decide what to buy.

ProvedHome is an attempt at a third option: read everything an owner of the product would have read after living with it for six months, then write that review.

Who runs it

ProvedHome is run as an independent solo publication. There is one named author who researches and writes the reviews you see — you can find the full bio, credentials, and contact details on the Team page. We do not hide behind anonymous "Editorial Team" labels: every review is signed by a person you can hold accountable.

How we research

For every product we cover, we start by reading the people who already own it. That means:

We then write a verdict in plain language. We don't cherry-pick reviews to support a pre-chosen "winner." If a product is mediocre, we say it's mediocre. If a $40 alternative does the job, we'll tell you that even when it pays a smaller commission. Our full process is documented on How We Test.

How we make money — and how that doesn't bias us

ProvedHome is monetized through affiliate links. When a reader clicks through to a retailer like Amazon and buys something, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to the reader. That is the only way we make money — we do not run display ads, accept paid placements, sell sponsored reviews, or take free product samples in exchange for coverage.

Affiliate revenue gives us an obvious conflict of interest, and we take that seriously. The full disclosure is on our Affiliate Disclosure page, and our Editorial Policy spells out the rules we follow to keep that conflict from biasing what we recommend.
